  • I have learnt some new skills as well as build on existing skills I had. • I really enjoy my programme, the tutors have been so helpful, engaging and supportive throughout. The learning that I have achieved has been fantastic and I will definitely be left with a huge hole in my life once I finish! • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme has been very well organised from the initial meetings with the training provider right the way through. My tutors have been fantastic at making sure everything is set at a pace that I can manage and with clear timelines for tasks to be completed. The IIA component was also very easy to arrange and has run smoothly throughout. The tutors have also been very good at adapting to my needs when we have needed to move tasks up or where I have progressed quicker than the original plan set and this has been extremely important in keeping me engaged and enthused.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer has given me a set block of time each week to complete my off the job requirement and has been good at giving me study leave to attend courses or exams. They have set tasks that will help me demonstrate the required knowledge skills and behaviours for the apprenticeship.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • What I have learnt has been helpful to me in my role and has given me lots of ideas of ways we can improve what we currently do. It has also given me the opportunity to see how things are done in different organisations and industries which is very good as it gives new perspectives that you wouldn't normally get to see.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Lancashire Teaching Hospitals to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • There is a wide range of careers available and not just in Healthcare and there are many different training routes into many of the professions which allow people to re-train or upskill. The Trust has specific strategic aims in terms of education and understands that it is an important part of what it does and how it builds sustainability for the future.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lancashire Teaching Hospitals?
  • There are lots of information days and ways of getting in touch so it is always worth looking at these as they will give really good advice on what you need for certain roles. The Trusts twitter feed is a really good source of information for recruitment and information days. It is also worth noting that you may need to have a bit of patience though as some of the recruitment processes can take a bit longer and it is always worth keeping in touch to help move things along.
