  • In my day to day role I would serve customers, take enquiries over the telephone or email and devise quotes on materials for customers. I would also manage the local housing trust account.

  • I have learnt a lot of new skills from my apprenticeship including communicating with people at all levels and sales skills and techniques.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoyed my programme, it gave me lots of information and confidence to utilise the skills learnt within my role to progress and develop within the branch.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well organised and structured. Everything was planned out and I knew exactly what I was doing each week.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I received a lot of support throughout the course from my Mentor, who checked in and provided support whenever needed. I also received support from my branch manager who allowed time in the branch to complete tasks and work. Finally I received support from my colleagues, they helped me understand business information and shared their experiences to support me too.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I received a lot of support, nothing was too much trouble and if I had any questions, I had a point of contact that I was able to get in touch with at any point.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • This qualification has helped me greatly because I now feel more comfortable and confident in my role. I understand the aims and strategy of the business so I can work in line with this to ensure I am achieving both what i want to and what the business requires too.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, there are so many other activities to get involved in. We have regional meetings we can attend to learn more about the business and network. We go out once a month as a team, food, drinks, bowling and we all spend time together to build working relationships and bond.

  • Yes

  • Travis Perkins is a brilliant company to work for. They are very flexible and provide employment based on individuals, nothing is ever too much. It is a fun company with so much opportunities and everyone is really nice too!!

  • Don't hesitate to apply. Travis Perkins is a wonderful employer and a great company to work for. There are so many opportunities and something for everyone within the business.
