  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt more in the office as in how to manage sales and data information and who to send it to and when, I have learnt better teaching techniques with my team to motivate and get a better job done and I have developed my skills in doing changes and moves in store.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I find the way the programme is done now (due to covid) quite hard to do mainly in the sense of finding time to do it and participate in teams meetings. I find alot of the work repetitive and alot just not relative to my job pr the next position, saying that when I'm actually doing the course I do enjoy it when it's relevant

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The sections are well set out as they don't expect too much in one go, so they're in nice little chunks. I do find some of the sections very irrelevant to any roles in my company and I think things get repeated alot. I think they could be a little more specific to at least the kind of retail your in.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I received as much support from my employer as I ask for, alot of the stuff I need to use in the modules, I either already know or I can find out easily online. If I do need help I tend to ask my manager and she will arrange a time to sit down with me and we will go through thi go together.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I only seem to get any assistance from my training provider during my actual meetings on teams, they have promised to send me documents, revision sheets ect but never have, they also haven't given me feedback on my first project which I've asked for a couple of times now to know if I've done it right or not.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think the modules in the very beginning gave me a better understanding of my role and also of my managers role. I used or thought of alot of these techniques whilst working with my teams and thinking on how to make them better, the later modules don't seem to be as relevant or help me perform any better at my job

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • No we do not currently have any kind of social activities, sports teams, or professional networking events or anything like that within our company. Teams in stores tend to be small and people (especially the management team) put in a lot of hours so rarely have any free time anyway)

  • 9a. Would you recommend Poundland to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Poundland is a good company to work for, it is hard work bit you also get alot out of it especially if you work hard. The have really good progression opportunities. When you have the right team in place you can have alot of fun and meet some really good people.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Poundland?
  • Poundland is not "JUST" a pound shop, therefore an easy place to work. It is hard work physically and mentally but it's very rewarding you meet some good people and opportunities to progress are very good. There's always extra hours going. Always think outside the box use initiative and you will go a long way.
