  • Opening or closing the shop, managing tills, dealing with customer, handling cash, organising, managing and delegating tasks, supervising staff, banking and cashing up procedures. Completing forms and checks such as health and safety, store standards etc

  • Yes plenty, to many to list here..

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I didnt. No time given during work hours, all work had to be done in my own time whilst working 30+ hours a week, midst covid, lockdowns, and bereavement periods.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It wasnt. Trainer was switched half way though. Had to give my skill endorsements multiple times. Constantly having to correct trainer on where I was at and what I had left to do so that we didnt go over work I had already done .

  • If I asked a question they was more than happy to help with my enquiries but beyond that no help.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Had a meeting one every couple months and that was about it. Although they was always willing to help if I messeged needing any support.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think it helps me perform better with in my role however, I was told the course would be a step towards a promotion to ASM level and that hasnt happened.

  • Nope

  • Yes

  • Fun and friendly to work for. Really good team in our store.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Poundland?
  • Flexible hours are quite necessary. Much more unlike to get hired if you can only do specific hours every day.
