  • Assessing and mitigating the risks that firms who are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority possess. Being the front line of the Financial Conduct Authority by supporting firms with their needs on the telephones & emails. Identifying harms that firms may hold. Driving and embedding change, continuously improving culture. Efficiently mitigating the risk of harm.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed a numerous amount of new skills and developed my existing skills. The Financial Conduct Authority will allow you to ensure you have time to develop your skills and look into finding new skills to learn as well as developing new skills in the present the Financial Conduct Authority also have further programmes to develop yourself.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have thoroughly enjoyed my programme as I have the perfect balance of business as usual work as well as enough study time to complete my apprenticeship. The Financial Conduct Authority have ensured that I have 20% study time and regularly have meetings to understand where we currently stand within our apprenticeship.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is organised well ensuring we have regular meetings with our banking coach who will give us advice as well as a plan for the programme ahead. The structure of the programme is also good as there is a timetable from the start to the end of the apprenticeship so you always know what is going on.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The amount of support you can receive from the Financial Conduct Authority is endless, you will have regular one to ones with your team leader and regular meetings with your team. If you would ever feel that you need more support your team leader will ensure that the support is received and you are enjoying your position.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The training provider will arrange meetings with yourself and your team leader every 6 weeks to offer feedback and advice on your apprenticeship. You are assigned a coach who you can always contact if you need support. The training provider offers numerous lines of support which you can always turn to if needed.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification that I receive through the training provider will develop my customer service skills as well as my financial literature skills which I can then offer firms that require it. The qualification will also develop myself and grow as an individual therefore allowing you to get involved with numerous events and grow in yourself.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are always extra-curricular activities available at work and you will always be keep updated on what's going on and what you can get involved in. There are numerous activities such as sports & social committee, due to the pandemic there aren't as many activities on however there are still a handful of events ongoing.

  • Yes

  • I would recommend the Financial Conduct Authority to a friend as I have enjoyed my job thoroughly as well as the support received from my team is endless. I have also been given time to complete my study work as well as get involved in team events. The development at the Financial Conduct Authority is endless with numerous further development programmes available.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to FCA?
  • When applying to the Financial Conduct Authority always be yourself and be confident, know that you will be joining a great work place that will help develop yourself in your career. Make sure you understand the Financial Conduct Authority's values and what our purpose is, this will help you understand the Financial Conduct Authority as well as key things to remember when completing your work here.
