Accountancy/Taxation Professional Level 7 Apprenticeship

We have an exciting opportunity for Accounting Professional, Level 7 Apprentice at the FCA. You will gain significant exposure to management accounting and be supported through a generally recognised professional qualification. You will be working as part of a team to support divisions across the FCA in budget and cost management ensuring value for money.

The key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Involved in planning processes for headcount and costs including 3-year strategy, annual budget, and monthly forecasting.
  • Closing month end accounts for the area you are supporting.
  • Providing management information with insight to support areas in managing their budgets and to provide forward forecasts.
  • Providing responses to questions relating to budget and cost management from stakeholders.
  • Assisting with any continuous improvement initiatives within Strategic Finance.
  • Providing general support across the team’s activities

Future prospects:

Apprentices who successfully complete their professional qualification and apprenticeship programme will continue to develop and grow in their role as an associate at the FCA.

Skills required: 

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages - particularly Word, Outlook, Access Excel and PowerPoint

Minimum qualifications required (e.g. GCSEs/A-Levels):

Minimum of 2 A Levels or equivalent at grade 4 (C) – including one in a numerical subject e.g. Maths, Economics, Finance. In addition to 5 GCSEs at grade 4 (C) including Maths and English or equivalent qualifications.

We are especially keen to hear from those candidates who have done a Level 3 or 4 accounting/taxation apprenticeship qualification and/or who have 1-2 years related experience.

Employment start date: Monday 7th October

Salary: £25,000

Working hours: 35 hours per week

Annual leave allowance: 25 days
