1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

What I currently work on is helping with projects which involve working with other engineers on building and testing of a test rig for different projects.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

The skills which I have learnt have involved configuring systems for project, also how to safely operate around electrical power systems and I have developed my skills in reading and following electrical drawings.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I'm enjoying the programme overall with it being very interesting and a great experience.

4. How well organised/structured is your programme?

Both sides of the apprenticeship with the university and the company are well structured now but as I was one of the first apprenticeship on the programme at the start it wasn't well structured

5. How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a great amount support from my employers with help being offered when I have university lectures or exams to deal with they give a good amount of time to complete the university work asked of me.

6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Due to being quite far from the university which provides my course it can sometimes seem like there is less support on offer but they still offer a lot of help you just may have to search it out for yourself at the start.

7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The modules which are part of the qualification sometimes have relevance to my role at work. Some of the modules are mechanical modules that don't match with the electrical engineering I do at work.

8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There has been but due to covid this has been extremely limited at the moment.

Yes

It is a company which put me through a degree and continues to offer support to develop my skills and knowledge.

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Schneider Electric?

For the application process it helps if you can make yourself original as Schneider is constantly looking to develop forward thinkers who are different and will come up with different solutions to problems we face.
