  • Day to day tasks include, valuing contract works and variation items, negotiating final accounts, issuing site instructions and forecasting end of life costs for multiple different sub-contracts using a range of skills and software.

  • I've learnt how to value work, use of CAD software, expanded my problem solving, negotiation and people skills. I am learning more and more every week.

  • As challenging and stressful this role can be, it leaves me with a sense of job satisfaction that makes me enjoy the work and look forward to coming in.

  • The course is very well organised and I feel I get the support I need.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a good level of support from my employer. However, from my experience, I have learned far quicker through working things out myself and asking lots of questions.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I believe my training provider gives me the right level of support in order to complete the degree to a good level.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Although some modules I have done don't directly relate to my day to day roles, overall I think what I have learnt has given me a much broader library of knowledge, as well as specialising in other areas.

  • There are occasionally opportunities. There are social events around important dates such as practical completion etc.

  • In the interview, you need to make yourself known and impress them. Make sure you've done your homework!
