  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role requires me to run shifts, using knowledge gained through workplace training and by laws & regulations to run a safe workplace and an excellent place for guests to visit us. I have a lot of responsibilities, which include training and hiring, working within a team, and making difficult decisions which could affect the Business.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt how to better myself as a manager, but also as a leader. By doing my apprenticeship i have been able to help my team and share my knowledge to help further development in the team too. I have also learnt a lot about how i spend my time, helping me to utilise it and use my time more effectively.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have really enjoyed the learning throughout this programme, it has really helped me to be a stronger leader but also a stronger person too.

  • My programme was very well structured and organised, it had a flow through each subject which would like directly to my job.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I received so much support from my employer as she also does extra learning too. I found that it helped develop new ideas using both our learning.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider was great at getting in touch/ helping me with confusion. this was really good more so throughout each lockdown, when times were confusing.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think that this course has helped me to perform better as i have realised my potential as a manager but also a leader. this has helped me to motivate and inspire my team, but also to develop on my own weaknesses too.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, we have an online training programme that is to help aid your job role with further training. for example at the moment i am completing my assistant manager training programme and i have just completed level 3 food safety, and level 3 fire health and safety.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a great place to work, with plently of development opportunities, and learning opportunities too. There is also a great work/life balance, but also brilliant bonus schemes too.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Mitchells & Butlers?
  • To be prepared to learn and develop, but to also expect the best from an employer too.
