  • In my role I work as part of a small team running tests on smart meters to verify that a code release is working as expected.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • In my role I'm being constantly challenged and picking up new skills as I go including attention to detail and collaborating with the team. As well as learning a raft of new tools including ALM and an testing automation framework.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the programme I am on as it provides an environment I thrive in where I'm constantly learning and feel supported in all my endeavours.

  • The programme is very clearly laid out and we know what is expected of us all the way through.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • CGI have provided me with 3 people I can turn to for support including my manager, mentor and buddy as well as a host of benefits such as the members assistance program.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Very understanding about the different asks on our time and help to provide us with the materials to learn to the best of our abilities however at times there is a lack of communication which leads to confusion

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel at times the course could be more relevant to what I do on a day to day basis however I feel that it provides a good foundation to build my understanding and knowledge upon.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, CGI have a Sports and Social club which I have joined which help subside events such as meals out, theatre trips and sporting events (e.g. football).

  • 9a. Would you recommend CGI to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I've had a very positive experience so far at CGI and think it's a great alternative to conventional roots and the company culture is very warm and friendly. At no point have I felt concerned about meeting work or university deadlines.

  • Be yourself Make sure the company is the right fit for you Everyone is nervous You may be working alongside your interviewer in the future!
