Data Analyst Review

On a day-to-day basis i would typically compile data together to create databases then do some analysis on that database. I also would be dealing with data requests that we get from other teams to help them out with the work they are doing whether its extracting the data, analysing the data or visualising the data.

I have learnt new skills and developed my existing skills in particular with excel. I've learnt lots of different things that excel can do which i didn't know it could and I've been able to build on what knowledge i had of excel before i started to perform difficult tasks.

I'm enjoying the programme a lot. The work is good and is quite easy to manage but if you've got too much to do then there will be someone to help you out with it. The company culture is really good everyone is welcoming and really helpful when you need it.

The programme is structured in a really good way, we are given training when we first join to help us understand the kind of work that goes on here and how we will fit in. With the studying and working side we are given lots of support to help us progress through the course.

I receive a lot of support from my manager as i have regular meetings with him to keep him updated on my workload and study balance so if i ever feel there is too much going on then i can just say and he will help me out. The HR team are helpful they set up drop-in sessions where we can go and raise any concerns that we might have as well as just being able to go and talk to them outside the sessions if we have any concerns.

I have received good support from the training provider as we have monthly calls with our tutor to raise anything that might be concerning us whether its to do with the learning or with one of the assignments that we are set. We also have a quarterly call with our tutor and manager to have a review of the progress we have made through the course.

I think that it has helped me perform well in my job as i have learnt a lot about how we can use data and what the different types of data are and how each type can be used in different ways. We are also taught how run through data to make sure it is clean and usable then how we can perform analysis on it using different tools.

There are a huge variety of clubs or extra-curricular activities that you can get involved with. They have lots of sport clubs including football and badminton or there are social clubs such as cinema or comedy. There is also a great chance to do volunteering here as we have a dedicated week where you can go out and help somewhere in the local community for a day.

During the assessment day and the interviews just try to stay relaxed and be open and honest. The assessment day is structured in a really good way as they give you time in between each task you are given to relax a bit so that it doesn't feel so full on.
