  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I love the programme, except for uni. If a different uni was chosen other than uos I would have been over the moon. However within my.role everyone has been so supportive and offer additional training and knowledge sharing sessions to really cement or introduce new and current skills needed for the continual development of these skills

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I was in a unique position where.my line managerial team ended up changing lines of business in the middle of the apprenticeship which meant that the team managing my apprenticeship changed. Due to the nature of my apprenticeship the line of business I was moved into doesn't have technical apprentices they didnt have the resource to support us fully. This affected only 3 out of around 150 people. But the team did the previous line of business we were a part of did there best to keep us informed of all changes even though we didn't form part of their cohort or appear on any of their lists after the change. Although this could have been improved

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer has been fantastic at supporting the apprenticeship. Within BT not only do you get day release from work to attend university once a week, but you also get a day dedicated to study tasks such as university assignments, new work Etc. Aa well as this they have been fantastic at pairing you up with a buddy to support additionally with the group.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • This is where BT Gets let down the training provider (in this case Universal of Suffolk) failed its students in the quality and content of lectures. The lecturers really struggled with the teaching elements and their marking policies are not adhered too and 2nd markers not clear, resulting in a high number of failures and appeals and even student union dean of school escalations due to the I consistency and other things to do with the

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Not at all, while it's great to have a foundation degree (due to the universites failings) I have I felt like I benefitted more.from.getting stuck in to the role within the working envrionment rather then at one of the lowest ranked universities within the uk and bnb mp cxx&

  • 9a. Would you recommend BT to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Bt have allowed me to make a career change and have a very decent wage on comparison to other apprentices and after 3 years have graduated on wage over £35k. And this is at the bottom of the ranges. There are lots of opportunities to.progress or even change focus and the new senior leadership team do really seem to value staff and offer lots of incentives and plans for staff moral

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BT?
  • Be yourself. Research throughly ther company. Know what stands of business they have. Know recent business development's and most of show that you can be a team player and willing to learn. I came in as a teacher with limited network knowledge but I'm now designing networks for a large corporate global customer
