  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Basically at an intern level performing menial tasks with some use of excel but mostly using google sheets, slides, etc. Also shadowing meetings and learning more about the business. I work with a senior associate who taught us how to do basic stuff so it was easy to work.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • the programme was organised quite well and the people were reasonably fast at responding which was useful for expenses etc. but there wasnt a great procedure at the beginning of the course but a good system developed quickly and was communicated quite well. also i feel like people had no idea they were getting tdas so didnt really have any work for us at the start

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • lots of support. we get loads of financial support for being in london which is really nice because everything is so expensive. also we had danielle and catherine available for any questions who responded really quickly and would give weekly feedback for any pressing matters or immediate emails if something needed to be communicated quickly.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • They were very supportive throughout the whole process. they were always open to questions and usually responded within the same day at least. it was easy to have a dialogue and made learning the pwc systems a lot quicker and easier which is good because there are a lot of sytems to learn.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • moderate. we didnt receive very much training (only 3 and a half days) and this was not very specific to stuff that we would directly be doing in our day to day work. it was however very interesting and does seem like it would be useful in the long run.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • there are several different activities i have heard of including football and tag rugby teams. i didnt take part however as they all seem quite competitive and i wouldn't have been confident in my abilities. i also heard that people are often asked to go for work drinks after work which seems really nice.

  • 9a. Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • because every single person i have met seems very friendly and eager to help and answer questions whenever necessary. additionally there is a very strong work ethic permeating through the whole company which is very motivating. pwc also shows to value its employees through rewards and respect for everyone here.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
  • Ask as many questions as you want its better to be a little bit of a nuisance asking questions than get something very wrong and your manager having to fix what you've done then do it right as well. also make sure to start all your emails and messages with "hi person" just makes you come across more polite and everyone here does it.
