  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Currently I work with a hand full of different Resellers aligned with my mentor. My role is to support them however I can and to encourage the sales of HPE within the reseller . My daily tasks can be varied as each day is very different in HPE. I have worked on a variety of different projects from charity based to sales incentives. one responsibility of mine is to keep track of the smaller account managers opportunities and help and support them throughout the sales cycle. I am not always working form my office in Bracknell, I spend a lot of time on sight with the different resellers. I spend a lot of time in London and Marlow going around the different offices

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • As well as the Apprenticeship qualification, we have been enrolled in sales training with Natural sales training. here we learn and understand the different types of sales techniques and how to develop ourselves to become the best sales person we can be. This sales training has been amazing as we can learn and understand techniques to help us in our daily role at HPE. Working has a HPE apprentice has taught me new skills as well as allowing me to develop existing skills. my communication and listing skills have improved more then I would have ever imagined and my overall confidence has rinsed massively. the environment at HPE is amazing and every member of staff no matter their level within the company are always lending a hand and asking if we need any help. it defiantly feels that everyone at HPE wants to improve and succeed

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I genuinely have never woken up on a work day and dreaded going into work. every day at HPE can be different which is more of the most exciting aspects. I'm never sat doing the same task day in day out. I am always learning new skills and applying them in my day to day work. I love the ability to travel around the UK. I have been up Sheffield, Leeds, Marlow, London, Scotland and Birmingham with this apprenticeship which have all been amazing experiences

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • This is the first time HPE have done a Technical sales apprentice which was a little scary as I didn't know if this apprenticeship would be up to the standards of other similar companies but I can happily say that I was blown away by how well organised and structured this apprenticeship has been. a huge team of people from all over the company came together to ensure that the first group of apprentices would not be left after the first week and actually wrote down a plan for our first 3 months day by day which is amazing and really shows the effort that HPE put into this apprenticeship

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • HPE have always been supportive throughout my apprenticeship. I have always had support to hand if I need it. any problems I have with or just my computer, there is always someone I can speak to. not only are my team supportive but there are a lot of people outside of my team who I can ask for help and speak to about any problems I have

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Remit have been our training supplier, they have been really helpful with understanding our qualifications and helping us understand what we need to do to pass the course. some of the content isn't that relative to our role but it is industry relative. remit are always happy to speak to us if we have any problems.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • As I said a lot of the content that Remit teach us I already know through my previous ICT qualification but its still useful to have a reminder. Remit can also go into the technical aspect of hardware which is useful to know but in our sales role isn't always what we are talking about. I'm confident that the qualification will go well and I will pass at the end of the year

  • 9a. Would you recommend Hewlett Packard Enterprise to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • my apprenticeship at HPE has been amazing and to sum it up into words is so difficult because I have done so much in such a short amount of time that I would need a whole day to explain what I have done. I love that my job is always different and I'm rarely doing the same job twice a week. I love that HPE encourage us to join in on charity event and push ourselves to raise money for good causes. This has been the best job I have ever had and the team I work with have been so supportive and encouraging

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Hewlett Packard Enterprise?
  • First of all just do it, when I was studying at college I never saw myself working for a huge company like HPE. when I saw the apprenticeship advertised online I was scared to apply as I doubted that I would be able to get the job but I pushed my self to apply and pushed my self in the interview and I got the job. I have a little bit of knowledge in ICT but if you don't still apply for this role, HPE are very supportive of teaching you and helping you understand what HPE sell and how to works.
