  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Im one of few deputy store managers, our job roles include management of store assistants, safe keeping and date checking, we also need to do till checks, count the tills and make sure other staff members get out on time, also do the store close and potentially store opens. We also help on the shop floor like every other staff member.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I very much enjoy my programme, the tests arent too hard but arent a breeze either, this makes for a fun challenging experience. Recently i have done a essay on a task i was given to do, and i enjoyed making the essay as well as doing the task itself.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • At the start of my apprenticeship it was a bit sloppy but after 2-3 visits it became very organised and ive had very few problems with knowing when my meetings with my mentor are and they are regular enough to know roughly when the next one will be after one that is coming up

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • As much support as i need, my mentor is always availble via email and has said that if i need help just to email her. She has also said that in the future if its a big task we can have a small call and talk about it as well which is very handy.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It helps greatly, it has helped me become more confident in my job and helps me devolp my skills more, for example the task i was given helped me to challenge myself into making the store get a greater number of LATA review responses, which we did achieve and this has showed me what i need to do to achieve this every month.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There arent many but when we do fund raisers we sometimes get a cycle bike in and we are asked to give it a try for a bit, and I once did a 1 hour cycle bike to help raise money for teenage cancer trust, which is our main charity we donate too.
