  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • As a store assistant my role consists of stacking shelves within certain times and dealing with all types of customers in a pleasant manner and serve people on the till making sure that I reach my 1000 items per hour. I also need to make sure that the shop floor is kept tidy and hasn't got too many pallets

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed my knowledge of how the business is run on a day to day basis. the best ways to deal with customer, the legal side of the business. what is the best way to deal with other member of staff and how electronics are used within the business

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy the program because I am working with a really supportive team and I never have nothing to do as you are always busy so you never have chance to be board. there are lots of different people who are always friendly and I like working with them all as they all know how hard it can be for everyone

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I find that my programme is well organised as I have regular meeting with my instructor and trainer within the organisation and have help from both of them with my course work. the induction was really informative and helped me to understand how the course works and how it will get me to where I need to be.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive plenty of help form my employer as all the manages help and even some of the store assistants, I have regular sit downs with the managers about how I am doing. every one seems happy to help me to complete my course work and help me learn new thing.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I get plenty of help form the training provider. I have regular meeting with my trainer from the provider which happen monthly however he is also reach able by email and by phone so I never have a problem with any of the work and he is all ways happy to change our meetings.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think that it helps me perform better as I have better knowledge of the company and how it works. I have learnt how to use what I learn in my sessions with my trainer like the legalization side of things and how to deal with different types of customers that come in

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • the company provide a small number of social activities i.e. store foot ball. there are some voluntary initiatives that the company does for the teenaged cancer trust. they provide reduced cinema tickets and gym memberships. they also put money towards x-mas meals that we are allowed to take part in each year if we want to.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Aldi to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • it is a friendly place to work as everyone works together as a team and gets along. you never run out of anything to do it is fairly easy to progress within the company if you are willing to push your self and go for it as there can be a lot of training involved


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?
  • make sure that you are willing to push your self at work as it can be hard to keep up with everyone else if you are new and if you don't prove your self as they will think that you can't keep up and you won't be able to progress
