  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role consists of many daily tasks. They can vary on a day-to-day basis and can range from supporting our recruitment managers, running reports and posting adverts - all the way through to sending through contracts, requesting references and leasing with other departments to find resolutions. In my employment, I'm encouraged to extend my knowledge and have had great exposure to different things to learn. I have been involved in residential trips and have already been involved in one automation project, as well as taking on more responsibility in my role anyway. Being able to have the know-how and implementing what i learn into my work role really does help and gives me great confidence for the future, whilst having great support from Crosby.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I am currently working on a HR Support Level 3 Qualification, as well as a CIPD. Mable is our award winning online training platform at our business and encourages all our staff from corp to retail, to up-skill and develop. Through attending Cohorts for the apprenticeship I have gained great insight into a range of different company's structures and objectives.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I love working for my organisation and to feel like i am a part a positive progression . I think the company culture and the way my organisation operates helps me on a day-to-day basis. Crosby are a great apprenticeship provider and is there to support you 24/7. I really enjoy parts of the apprenticeship and really love pushing my limitations to try and show adaptation and resilience.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I think the programme is well structured, however sometimes it can be difficult to manage if you have a busy workload on your normal Day-To-Day job. The support i get is excellent, throughout my employment I received great training from great mentors (Crosby Included). My team has been undergoing a lot of changes recently and has had quite a big impact on our task delegation, with the hope that legal working, corporate and retail will all run the the same responsibilities. (Only seven stars due to the amount of changes in the Team-Lead, none of which would know what my role completely entails anyway. So i feel like the Task delegation will be improved, however there is only one team lead for all three parts of On-boarding/ Legal).

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have received phenomenal support from all of my managers and my team. As Retail recruitment is only a team of two and is a highly demanding job, supporting a group of 14 recruitment managers and thousands of sites can be quite hard to balance with studies. But regardless, there has been tons and tons of support from all of the Team-Leads towards my progression and potentially guiding me on to better things. The culture has been great and i am very very lucky.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I absolutely love going to Crosby. As strange as it sounds, i'm really going to miss going to the cohorts and networking with other HR professionals. They are very supportive and are some real lovely people! Sometimes the feedback can be a little slow, but i can imagine they have tons to do! I have really enjoyed it and will always encourage others. I would love the opportunity to do the level 5.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel through me gaining this qualification I am able to implement new skills that i have learnt through the apprenticeship in to my work life and hopefully provide me with the opportunity to kick start my career and encourage progression. Every day is a learning experience and HR is constantly being updated, so it really does help to stay on top of it. I feel though i have come on Leaps and Bounds since i first started the apprenticeship and has give me the motivation i need to show people i am ready for the next step (More learning or Promotions etc.... )

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, My workplace has a great events on throughout the year for training or just general fun. We have lots of well-being activities and classes, as well as our online training platform/ Training events. We have a social committee and we have a social party every fourth Friday which is a great way to network and chill out! I love going out for nice Drives in my spare time and tinkering around with it, going to shows, concerts and other "Outdoorsy" activities, so its great to have so many extra-curricular activities within my business.
