  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • In my role at Schneider, we work in placements in different areas of the business. Currently I'm working in sales so on a day-to-day basis I am sending lots of emails and taking part in E-learning courses to learn more about sales and what the role consists of. Furthermore, I occasionally go out on sales visits with some of the salesmen to gain experience in front of customers and understand how a good salesmen operates and the strategies they use.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Overall, I feel that my apprenticeship program is quite well organized. I initially really enjoyed the project work that I was doing in my first secondment and the placement was really well planned as I had pre-planned people that were assigned to assist me everyday. I do feel that the program could benefit from slightly better planning in some areas however I feel that the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I feel that the support I get from my training provider is very good and helpful for me. I receive a lot of help whilst in class and all of the lecturers are happy to take my questions (No matter how stupid they are!). I feel that in certain areas the training could be improved however this is a small problem and could be rectified fairly easily.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • When I was doing my first placement, my training that I was receiving from my college was reaaly helpful for me as the information that I was being taught was relevant to the role I was in. However, now I am working with the sales team which isn't directly linked however still has some relevant information. Besides, the information that I am being taught at college isn't supposed to teach me about sales as the apprenticeship is in Electrical engineering and not sales.
