my day to day tasks involve preparing and creating resources for training sessions, taking the lead on polices to ensure they are updated and changed regularly, taking the lead on all Maternity spreadsheets to ensure they are constantly up to date, creating more effective and up to date application forms, regular contact with the school’s head teachers and business managers to taking query’s and giving advice and organising meetings with external and internal clients.
Everyday I am continuing to develop more and more skills throughout my apprenticeship at Engie, although since starting I have found my confidence and communication skills have improved massively due to the opportunities and training I am offered. I have also developed my organization skills to ensure I meet all deadlines I am set either by my manager or training provider
I thoroughly enjoy my apprenticeship at Engie, this is due to many things such as the great working environment, the relationships I've built with other colleagues and apprentices and the support I am always given throughout. I also enjoy how different my day to day jobs are and the new challenges I get faced with.
My programme is very well structured which is shown through my passport booklet that is used to see my progress and to set more goals. I also think it is very well organised due to continuous opportunities us apprentices are offered including trips out like high borrons for 5 days! and the training sessions to help us develop skills.
I receive a lot of support from my employer including members in my team, my workforce development manager and other apprentices that Engie have helped me build relationships with. I feel very supported due to many things including my quarterly meetings I have to discuss my apprenticeship as well as monthly meetings with my manager and line mentor.
my training provider comes down once a week for around 2 hours to half a day to help discuss what I am doing and go through my tasks I am set.I receive a lot of support from them and always find it is very easy to gain contact when needed to help me.
I feel like it helps me a lot as I am constantly learning about HR. its very helpful when learning about something from my training provider and it comes up in my job, it has helped me a lot when gaining a understanding of certain queries and situations that I am dealing with.
Yes there are, for example in my second week I was sent to high borrons for 5 days with my manager and other apprentices to help build our relationships. There are also weekly walks to do with other colleagues, regular catch ups with the other apprentices and days out offered.
Yes
id recommend an apprenticeship at Engie as it has prepared me a lot for the working life since coming straight from sixth form. It has taught me lots of new skills and helped me develop many. Engie helps you make relationships that are for life, with the staff always wanting to support you. Engie has helped me massively when it comes to my career and my future.
Id give the advice to just apply for Engie and to be yourself throughout the whole process. This is what will differentiate you from others and allow you to stand out. I would also give the advice to have good punctuality and time keeping as the last thing you want to be is late throughout any of the process. The last piece of advice is that you wont regret it!
