  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role mainly revolves around assisting. My tasks were originally my site manager or project manager but were not a priority, so the tasks were passed to me.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I would say the role more or less refreshed my memory of my existing skills since I was unable to use them as often before I began my current role. It is helping me in terms of communication confidence-wise and just in the overall experience.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Those that I interact with and my trainer have been very supportive and have given a lot of positive reinforcement when it comes to reviewing my work. As someone that wasn't studious until later in life the support makes me look forward to a future in my current role.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I'm learning new documents much later in my apprenticeship, but the amount of time I have to organise my assignments and do my site tasks are extremely balanced and I never find myself overwhelmed by balancing.

  • 100% They take their time to explain and we have discussions incase we are all or both unclear.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • She encourages me to contact her no matter what if I have any questions. This is either through mobile or email and she responds back quickly.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The more in-depth we go the more I notice certain things my project manager may say in a meeting that was covered in my assessments.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We have volunteer days which can be either in central or out of central London. It ranges from decoration to interacting with the younger generation of our experiences.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Equans to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • My friend has similar work experience and I believe she would also enjoy the environment while getting a qualification and moving up in life.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Equans?
  • make sure you look up the company's goal and if it's something you are genuinely interested in. I never thought I would do an apprenticeship in construction, especially since it is male-dominated but they have been extremely welcoming here.
