  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy this programme at the moment due to the learning aspect of this. For example I really enjoyed electronics and had a chance to learn new skills within this. As each section was six weeks we had the necessary time to complete it and come out with the right skills.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The structure of the programme is well done however as all programmes there could be improvement regarding organising and communication. However the four section structure to achieve the level 2 is well put together and the transition on to the level 3 seems it has been oragnised very very well.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We receive the correct and necessary support to complete our qualifications on time and to the best of our ability. If we have any questions or queries we can ask them and be confident that they will be answered to the best of their ability. This is vital in achieving the qualification we have.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It definitely helps us to perform better as these are all new skills I had not learnt before. For example testing with multimeters, soldering skills, drilling, milling and using a laithe. Without these skills I would not be able to progress within the company and perform to the best of my ability in the role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I believe there are but I have not had the chance to explore all of these. However me and my colleagues socialise regularly out side of work and take any and every opportunity to team build. Team building could be by playing football together, or even just a casual get together

  • 9a. Would you recommend Transport for London to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • As they are a large company with a very large support structure. The pay is very good and the hours are just as good. The benefits that come with the job are great, this includes the pension as well as the salary benefits. The work is also very fun and enjoyable.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Transport for London?
  • Make sure you really have a determination to succeed in engineering as this will come across really well. Also being a team player is also a part of working for Transport for London so if you could increase these skills before applying it would really help in the interview process.
