  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a customer adviser at Halifax who is part of Lloyds Banking Group. My role is to help customers with deposit/withdrawing money from their own accounts, printing statements, changing addresses, closing accounts, transferring money from an account to another. I also refer the customers to my colleagues by booking appointments for a specific enquiry.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt how to balance ATM machines. I also learnt how to empty the IDM machine in the end of the day as well as validate cheques. I am learning how to set bulk in the morning and how to balance it in the end of the day. I'm also learning how to deal with cash deliveries.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The programme is for 15 months. I started in November 2017 and I will finish in February 2018. I enjoy it as it keeps me busy and it is a lot of knowledge to learn. I learn new things everyday which is what I want and I am willing to learn more by day to day.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I have [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] from learn direct who checks my work every 4 to 6 weeks that supports me with all the work I'm doing. He checks all my work and he explain if I missed anything or if I need to add more information to the examples. We also check step by step which makes it clear for me to understand.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?

I always email him my work when he is not in the branch and he always check and lets me know if I am on the right track with everything. When he come to the branch he always goes back to make sure I am not missing anything.

  • I receive a good support from everyone in the Group. The whole team in Barnet is very supportive and helpful.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The salary it is alright. I cannot complain as I just got a little rise salary and the bonus. Although everything like bills, insurances as well as rent which can get expensive every time. I am aware that the salary will rise even more by the time I learn everything.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Lloyds Banking Group is a supportive group who helps you grow in the company and I do recommend it to my friends. It is a good opportunity to work in a banking environment and have a different experience. Although once you get in the Group you get too attached and you won’t want to leave.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lloyds Banking Group?
  • Working for Lloyds Banking Group is a good opportunity to grow in the company. You have a massive support from everyone in the group. All you have to do is to show interest that you want to be part of this family group where everyone helps you and supports you.
