  • I have developed my organization skills which I already did possess when I began as my job requires to be organize files, documents, data as well as keep on top of mail and helping my team out with other organizational tasks. I am currently developing my attentiveness to detail as ensuring certificates are all correct, e.g. names and dates, as well as checking documentation is correctly filled out is vital when applying for learners certificates. I am currently participating in an online course to do with digitial innovation so I am learning more about that topic and how it links into my current role.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am really enjoying my programme so far due to the work I am being given. With starting a business administrative apprenticeship, I was a bit unsure as I was more into digital and innovation rather than daily admin tasks, however, my work load due to my interest has been linked to the digital side of the work we do here at Siemens Professional Education, making my daily tasks and my general role far more interesting and fun to do. I really like my team that I work with as they are super friendly, helpful and we get on extremely well. In general I am enjoying this apprenticeship so much and it is opening so many roles, I can't wait to see where it takes me.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • From coming in and starting at Siemens on day 1 it has been completely well organized. I was given an induction on my first day and was provided with a tour of the whole shop floor, office and was introduced to some of the staff working closely with the Siemens Professional Education Team. All of my equipment from my mobile pone to my laptop, desktops, pens, etc. was on my desk when I arrived. Siemens was completely well pre-pared for my arrival. I have been constantly provided with support from dealing with daily tasks to understanding the many meanings within Siemens. Overall, Siemens have been very well organized when it comes to my apprenticeship programme from arranging meetings with my college tutors to being provided with support when required.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • My training provider is very helpful. I get a visit about every 2-3 weeks talking about the work I am submitting and future work I can begin to work/prep for. I am provided with feedback not only within every visit but over email too. If I am stuck on any of my set work, my tutor is always there to offer me support. My tutor is also very friendly and offers plenty of support, making my college work far more enjoyable as I know I can count of them for help if I do struggle with some work. I have received positive feedback for the work in which I have provided, encouraging me to continue with the work I am producing.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • When it comes to support, I always receive plenty of it from everyone. I receive support from my manager, helping me with my work, providing guidance when I am stuck and communicating the facts and whys to the tasks. I also receive plenty of support from clients, helping me with certificates, documentations, etc. which is really nice. The accessibility of support is huge as there are so many people, i.e. manager, manager's manager, my team, clients, HR, etc. that I can reach and go to when stuck and need advice or guidance.

  • 9. Would you recommend Siemens to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend Siemens to a friend for many reasons such as the opportunities such a big company can provide you with, the recognition for working with a huge company, the job and tasks you get to carry out and get involved with but most importantly, due to how friendly everybody is. There have been no issues with the people I work with and the wider Siemens members I do get to speak to. Everybody is so lovely and respectful to one another, it is a great work environment to be in.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Siemens?
  • One tip I would give is ensure your CV is up to scratch. I did not realize how important a CV was in terms of layout, presentation, not only experience, skills, etc. actually was. Take time on your CV and by doing so, you will show to the employer how well presented you are, organized and how much you care to work for that company.
