  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a Junior Associate and work in the South-East Regional Consulting Team. I work on the Business Development side of things and try to 'win work' and new client engagements for the firm. I am responsible for the managing of all our materials and I regularly maintain and update trackers.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I am currently working towards a Certificate in Management Consulting whilst I am also working through a diploma based qualification. I have improved my excel and powerpoint skills whilst working on the job. Furthermore, I have learnt a considerable amount about the business and how the consulting industry works.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my programme, I have met some lovely people and there is lots of support.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by PwC?
  • I feel extremely valued whilst working for PwC. I have received some great feedback which has given me a boost whilst I am responsibile for certain trackers and key documents within my team. I feel that they appreciate my skills and knowledge.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is definitely organised. There is a clear structure around the programme and I know who to speak to if I have a particular issue or question. This has enabled me to relax within my role and not stress about particular things. We have a people manager who looks after our well-being whilst also offering continuing support and assistance.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • We receive a lot of support from our tutor and exam body leader. They email use regularly to give us updates of what we should be doing whilst they also have made sure that there is an open-door policy. This means that we can email them at any time to ask them to clarify something with us.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Support is easily accessible whilst there is an abundence of resources to help you with your needs. This incudes, your manager, the HR team, the IT team, several internal teams, and the networking page which provides you with many useful contacts.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The salary is great! Baring in mind that it is a school-leaver programme, it is an amazing salary with the option of additional bonuses as well. The salary is based on a London wage. Even though the programme is a Higher Apprenticeship, it is not an apprenticeship wage.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are plenty of social events, some are company events which are all paid for whilst there are also other informal events. There are many opportunities to get involved with charity events, clubs and teams. The business is so large, there will be many people who share the same interest and are probably involved with your desire already.

  • 9. Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a great place to work. There is plenty of support. It is so large that opportunities are endless. Whatever you wish to do, you can do it.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
  • Stay open-minded. Be able to discuss and weigh-up the possible outcomes of events. Be able to portray that you have worked in teams before and can build relationships.
