The first two weeks of the program consisted of icebreakers, team tasks and working towards a CMI in team leading. We also got to travel to London to visit baker McKenzie and the Canary wharf office as well as visiting the Williamsleatag office in luton. the final week was spent on work experience where I worked in London on an audit with experienced members from EY.
I believe I have developed multiple skills through the program. these being team work, more effective communication and better presentation skills. I feel as if I have learnt how to be a team leader which I know will benefit me as I continue in my career.
I have enjoyed the program thoroughly, a lot more than I believed I would have. this is because I thought I would of been assigned basic tasks though I wasn't and feel as if I have been able to benefit from the challenges. At times I was nervous about certain things I was asked to do but now know if asked again I can meet the problem more confidently which has enhanced the overall enjoyment.
extremely. over the length of the program I have come into contact with multiple important people and the fact they have time to talk to me shows how much EY value its people and the students wanting to become a part of the company full time.
Very. it is rare we are unsure of what to do and if we ever are, we know we can ask questions. the fact the program is organized with two weeks in luton and then a week at a client makes it more beneficial. this Is because I was able to learn/develop skills I could then put into practice those skills on the work experience.
we received a lot of support as we had numerous leaders throughout. each one made an enormous effort as well and gave us a massive insight to their own careers. they also helped massively when it came to working towards the CMI qualification.
The foundation itself has supported us by giving us the best advice, giving us the opportunity to try to achieve the CMI qualification and financially by supporting our way of getting to where we needed to be. we are also able to continue to contact the company for guidance for the next 10 months.
the pay is more than generous for the job we are doing and what we are receiving in terms of knowledge. EY have also helped to cover the costs of my travel which has been appreciated greatly.
I believe that we will have many opportunities if we were to be apart of EY for longer. while being here I have had multiple emails about events happening outside of work all around sports and other fun activities so I know there is the opportunities.
Yes
Because I have benefitted enormously and would want all my friends to have the same opportunities. I also think It is important to surround yourself with people with good mindsets and I believe you must have a good mindset to be apart of the program.
I would recommend to be yourself through the whole process and receive feedback as much as possible. I would also say to ask as many questions whenever you are unsure to be able to get the most out of the program if you are successful.
