1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am a service and repair engineer for British Gas HomeCare. I cover all types of Gas appliances, central heating systems and smarter homes products, as well as promoting the company's products to our customers.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Developed my fault finding skills, and have learnt how to commminicate on a more professional level

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I Enjoyed the initial 2 years of the apprenticeship very much. Now that I'm classed as a newly qualified engineer, I much prefer, as I have a lot more responsibility and am able to work on my own.

4. How valued do you feel by Centrica?

I definitely feel valued, especially in wintertime when we're most busy!

5. How well organised/structured is your programme?

A lot of the apprenticeship plan was followed, and I am happy with how it was carried out. As with anything however there's always room for improvement- of which BG took our feedback and seemed to listen.

British Gas train internally

As much as required.

7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?

The initial 2 years were tough, but were about the apprentice minimum wage so can't complain.

Unsure of what kind of opportunities this requires, but me and my colleagues are friendly and see each other outside of work fairly regularly
