Install and exchange gas and electric meters, fit smart meters, clear faults and provide energy efficiency advice.

I have learnt a lot of new skills in electrical and gas engineering and developed existing ones.

There is a good balance between classroom learning and practical hands on experience

As an employee I feel valued by my team, line managers and the business as a whole

5. How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is getting better as each candidate passes through. The course seems to be reactive rather than proactive and there is still room for improvement

The trainers are experienced in different areas and provide a lot of support

There is a lot of support provided, as part of quarterly 121 review and on an ongoing basis. Personal, physical and emotional support is also provided

It's not the best paid compared to other companies but all training is provided

There is a good work life balance. British gas also promotes charity work
