  • I am a service and repair gas engineer. I fix and do annual safety check and inspections on household gas appliances and systems. Including boilers, gas fires, cookers, warm air heating systems etc.

  • I have gained a lot of technical skills that I previously didn't have a lot of experience in doing so.

  • I enjoyed the programme overall as it was good for building on confidence and learning the trade.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Centrica?
  • British Gas sometimes make you feel valued but also it can simply be a case of getting as much work done as possible in as quick a time as possible.

  • The programme was structured but there was a lot of wasted time that could have been better spent learning.

  • I received an okay amount of support during my training period

  • I receive an fairly good support from my colleagues mainly other engineers

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The salary package is good. I have no complaints that you are paid a fair wage for the work you do. Also good benefits system and pension etc.

  • Not really many opportunities that I have been made aware of so unsure of this question

  • 9. Would you recommend Centrica to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Good pay. Fairly good training. Good experience with big company.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Centrica?
  • Show them that you can deal with customers and they will love that. They can teach you the technical stuff but you need to know how to act with people.
