  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I wwas work shadowing in the PwC Birmingham office at a client site in the Audit and Assurance team. My role involved completing part of the audit and learning the key aspects of auditing and assurance. We were based at a client site so I got hands on experience of interacting with different clients.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes- I have definitely developed my organisation and communication skills and I have learnt the importance of excel and computer skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoyed my programme and I learnt lots of new things about both auditing and assurance and the role I would hopefully be applying for in the future.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by PwC?
  • I felt as if I was a key member of the team and I felt very valued as I was given much coaching and many tasks to complete.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • We started with an induction in the London office which introduced us to PwC and I felt that this was very well organised giving us an opportunity to ask lots of questions. My buddy contacted me in advance and I spent three days work shadowing in Birmingham. The final day is a client project and I feel as if this ties in everything we have learnt about accounting.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I recieved lots of support from my training provider and felt like I could ask them anything if I got stuck or needed any help.

  • We got a lot of emails and guidance from the employer which was very helpful.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I live in Wolverhampton so its a long journey from Wolverhampton to both London and Bristol. But PwC reimburses my costs as well as providing me with an hourly rate.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Yes- there are opportunities to volunteer outside of work which really appeals to me.

  • 9. Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Although I worked in a business environment, everyone was very friendly and welcoming meaning it was quite easy for me to get along with everyone.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
  • I would recommend making the most out of your placement- ask lots of questions!!
