  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • You are an insight student for a week which means you do real work for PwC with real clients in a real office. This is not like some programmes where they make up work for you to do. This is the same work graduates get.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt a lot about accounting from being in a real office. I also improved my skills on MS Office including Excel, Powerpoint and Word.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by PwC?
  • You feel very valued. Each student gets a laptop and email address to use for the week and employees treat you as a colleague, not an intern.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is well structured with an induction day and a closing day to sandwich three days of shadowing in the office. At no point in the week was I not busy.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • You receive a lot of support at the induction from the people who run the programme during the inducition day. They are also available throughout the week for advice.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The buddy system means you have support whenever you need it as they are always there to help. Also everyone in the office will almost always stop what they are doing if you need any help.

    10/10

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The pay is unecessary and very big for work experience. On top of that, travel costs when you go somewhere other than your base office are paid for by the firm.

    10/10

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Not reall as the placement is only a week. If you are lucky there may be an office party during your placement you may be invited to.

    7/10

  • 9. Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a very rewarding programme and there is lots to learn from the people who work in the firm.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
  • Be genuine in the interview and know about PwC, the programme and the wider business world. That is what they are looking for.
