Apprentice, I complete all daily tasks that a fully qualified member of staff would, i am level 3 so i have key children so have nappies responsibilities as well as daily checks, head count , open and closing room and garden check-lists and overall care of each child.I deal with parents and complete hand overs on a daily basis, i go swimming with the children on set days. I will set up rooms plan activities and plan for children.
I have gained further experience and an ICT and First aid qualification i have completed many training courses, for promoting positive behaviour, to how to plan effectively.
The team i work with in Nursery room they made sure i felt apart of the team and i fit in well. the company is good and allows me to have 1:1 time with a mentor if i ever have any concerns. it has met my expectations and more, i am allowed to do things a lot more than i thought and i feel as thought i am very much part of the team.
My manager and especially my assistant manager (mentor) are both very appreciative, they will let me know if ive done something they like or any feed back from parents as does my new room leader.
The induction was very in depth and had a lot of good information. Training has been okay but i feel it is very similar slot of the time and ive had to repeat some due to double booking and a slight lack in organisation , but over all the training is very useful. i have study time for half a day a week which is very handy. i can have a 1:1 every week with my mentor if i feel necessary. i have alot of roles and i feel i am valued in the nursery room team. Them prorgram its self was up and down , we were suppost to have texts books and tablets to complete work but they took a very long time about 3-4 months to show.. this did make coursework rather hard.
If i needed any support i can get it really easily, through my learn direct assessor, if i have any concerns i can email or call her.
Im supported pretty well , my mentor is my main support if i need it. if i have any questions however i can normally ask anyone to help
Asquith offer alot higher pay then a typical apprenticeship wage, so it meets pretty well seeing as i still live at home, but if i was to move out i dont think it would really be suitable to carry on with the wage.
we have open days that run once a month and we have some events run within the apprenticeship scheme , not so much any more but at the beginning.
Yes
It is a brilliant way to get experience and they are a very effeciant company!
