1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

10/10

On a day to day basis I am working as a sales associate, my daily tasks include selling high end products to luxury clients, analysing sell through reports, assisting my team in refunds and exchanges and providing small visual merchandising assistance for a given area.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

10/10

Since starting this job, I have developed my skills in customer service greatly. I have learnt about how different cultures will expect different manors of customer service and about the different types of shoppers there are i.e. an analytical or creative shopper.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

10/10

The team that I work with has honestly had a large impact in the enjoyment of my programme. Working alongside such an enthusiastic, knowledgable and trustworthy team has afforded me the chance to develop not only the skills needed for the programme, but also vital skills I will carry with me through life.

4. How valued do you feel by Harrods?

10/10

I feel extremely valued by Harrods. All of the management (across all senior levels) have been accepting and welcoming to myself and willing to go out of their way to ensure I get the most out of the programme.

5. How well organised/structured is your programme?

9/10

My programme has been well organised. Although lengthy, applying for the programme was simple and the induction given was very thorough. Regular training sessions have been organised through till the end of the programme and a training schedule was provided upon start.

6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?

9/10

Regular monthly catch ups with the course leader are always arranged and any other problems or general queries I have had throughout my time are answered and resolved (when needs be) via email or phone call.

6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?

10/10

In all honesty I have only ever needed to contact departments such as HR once. Based on this experience, the feedback is very positive. Very efficient, sufficient resolutions were provided and getting in contact was done with ease.

7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?

10/10

Working in Harrods does not help my expenditure. My salary for a conservative, average teen is more than plentiful. However when you work opposite Saint Laurent, pay day doesn't last long! On a serious note - with my commission - travelling zones 1-6 every day is no worry to me and being able to afford a brand new car has all been made achievable with my salary.

8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?

6/10

Since working, my leisure activity has decreased - but working full time I was prepared for that to happen. In regards to company events, honestly, there are probably a fair few, but someone of my level and experience is probably not eligible as such.

9a. Would you recommend Harrods to a friend? *

Yes

9b. Why? *

Harrods look after their staff exquisitely and the opportunities I believe having working at Harrods on my CV will afford me later in life are going to be once in a lifetime. Also, the extravagance of the building, the products and the lifestyle is a marvel in its own right.

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Harrods? *

Be yourself. At the end of the day, when you are interacting with customers, you need to be a genuine and enthusiastic person. People have a misconception that staff in Harrods have to be model-like in looks, but really as long as you dress smartly, looks won't be an issue!
