  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role entails working within the finance department as an automation apprentice, the role involves carrying out requirements gathering with clients and assessing whether an idea is right for automation. The building of automated process alongside the developers within the team, carrying out tests on automations and observing the automations. Often carrying out mapping of process in their current As Is state, to mapping their To Be state. Producing the necessary documentation which defines what the process is and what it will do when automated. I work on requirements gathering on a process from end-to-end.

  • I have learnt how to map out a manual process in its current state and map out how it will work for automated purposes. Additionally I have learnt how to access whether an idea is right for automation and to submit it via the UiPath's Automation platform. So far I have also learnt how to use some of UiPath's tools such as the Automation hub for submitting ideas, task mining for recording the steps in a manually process, how to view assets used within automated process via Orchestrator. During my apprenticeship I have learnt about the software application which is used for development of automations and how the robot runs those automations created in the development environment. My learning has also taught me how I carry out gathering requirements with clients and how to complete the documentation around requirements gathering.
