  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The training provider is good. Unfortunately as I am studying a level 3 I am unable to start level 5 until my apprenticeship finishes, which will be September 2025. This is frustrating because I would have preferred to start my level 5 earlier whilst I'm in the mindset of studying. I think there should be January intakes however the training provider doesn't offer this. I enjoy the programme at Tarmac because I have been given lots of different opportunities to attend and develop my knowledge and skills.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My line manager and I have regular 1:1 discussions regarding my development. I am able to contact them if I feel I need to discuss anything. I have a scheduled day a week focusing on my college work, and if I need to have additional time then my line manager is supportive.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I am able to apply the content learned on the CIPD course to my current role whilst doing my daily tasks. I have no prior experience in HR so it is important for me to be able to apply the theory to the practical of my role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • No we don't really have the opportunities as apprentices to attend professional networking events. I think it would be beneficial if the training provider offered HR professional to visit and do talks or arrange a visit to an employee tribunal. It would also be good if other apprenticeship providers hosted a day/forum/conference for apprentices to meet and talk to different individuals and companies.
