  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a Collections Supervisor in the Collections Department with a team of 6 employees. We are responsible for collecting debt for national accounts assigned to our team. We monitor debt performance, build relationships, we work with billing and receipting, look into queries and look for efficiencies in our processes.

  • Yes, we have covered some skills I learnt a long time ago that I have forgotten and plenty of new skills too.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the programme and the weekly classrooms are informative and well explained for me to understand

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • We have the weekly classroom at the same time every week which has helped me book this in my calendar in advance. The rest of the time allocated to the course is down to me to book to make sure I am working on the apprenticeship, I found this difficult at first but have now made them reoccurring in my calendar.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support, my manager is on the same course as me and this is really helpful as she knows what I am working on. She will also set goals that support the apprenticeship as well as the needs of the business.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • So far it has been good, I am about 6 months or so into the course.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I have started trying to incorporate some of the formulas, I have worked on a project for data cleansing and started looking at data visualization which have all helped in my role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, we have social events nearly every month and I try to attend when I can if I can work around childcare when they are not in office hours.

  • Yes

  • Find out their expectations of your role and responsibilities and set your expectations from the beginning, especially if you need flexibility for any reason.
