    • Processing ice cream mixes in the pilot plant, running physical measurements, running tastings, creating specifications, formulating ice creams

    • yes - lots of ice cream knowledge, communication skills, organisation skills

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

    • I really enjoy the programme, I think it enables you to gain valuable experience whilst also completing your degree. Unilever are also really good at ensuring you are fully supported.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?

    • Very well organised. As apprentices we get to rotate into different teams each year, this is always well organised and thought through.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?

    • I receive lots of support from my employer. I always get my off the job hours and any extra time if needed. My mentor is really good at keeping in contact with me making sure everything is okay.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

    • Lots of support. They are always checking in making sure we are not struggling. They are always there if I have any questions.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

    • I think that the knowledge of the food industry gained helps me in my day to day job as it provides context and knowledge as to why we are doing certain things.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

    • Yes, there are lots of activities to get involved in. We have many sports clubs on site, as well as apprentices arranging social activities outside of work.
