  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Working in the Business Operations team, I mainly work with procedures and audits as my organisation is a regulator. I have lead audits myself and helped out with preparation for others. I also work with budgeting, project management and data analysis.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, i have gained lots of new knowledge, skills and behaviours. These have been through the day to day work and through the training provided by Babington. the CAA provided me with excel, PowerBI and D365 training, giving me skills that I use everyday.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I thoroughly enjoy my programme as it is so broad. lots of my days don't look the same with new projects popping up. The CAA has also been very accommodating and provided me with the time i need for my study.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme has been well structured so far. Using Babington's BUD system to stay on top of my study with monthly tasks to complete.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My Employer has provided me with support in anything I need. No question is a bad question in the CAA and i have never felt wrong to ask for help with a particular job.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Babington provides check ins with my Trainer whilst also being a message away through the BUD system. The online classes are well structured and provide all the support needed for the tasks.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My training has helped me reflect on my work and given me things to bring to my workplace. My qualification and my role are well integrated helping me perform the best I can.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, at the CAA there is a wide range of extra curricular activities to get involved in. from a football team to language groups for people to practice their second languages. However due to a small presence of young Apprentices there is a small social aspect.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • The CAA is a great organisation to work for. as a newcomer I was greeted with open arms and a long introduction to the things different people do within the CAA. They also push for people to continually learn within their role and support career development.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Civil Aviation Authority?
  • Have an open mind and be yourself.
