  • My role includes a lot of property investigation work with electrical infrastructure equipment. I complete land registry searches and drafting up wayleaves.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt lots of technical skills with being in an office with colleagues who have been in the field for a long time, My technical understanding of electrical infrastructure has improved.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy the day to day of my job, especially site visits I really enjoy meeting new people and landowners and explaining projects and schemes. It has really helped my confidence.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is very organised with work being structured Monday - Thursday and then Friday is dedicated to learning and I am completing my degree with UCEM which has a really helpful layout.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The support with the apprenticeship is incredible whether it is internal the team are all willing to help and a really good contact point for queries, I find UCEM incredibly helpful and understanding that completing a degree whilst in work is a lot of dedication and hard work. The support system really makes the apprenticeship journey smoother.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • There is so much support especially with meetings regarding process and also offering support with the technicality of the assignments. I had a query with setting out my assignment and I had a very helpful call which provided clarity and assistance.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It helps me perform better in the role as there are so many layers to the area of property and land I work in so with any technical help with land especially agriculture really helps me further my knowledge and put it into practise.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Savills is very good for networking and there are events which is networking with the graduates and apprentices and it is really helpful knowing that there is a whole network we can talk to. There are sports teams to get involved in and there is such a team aspect to Savills overall.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Property is a really interesting industry to work in and there are so many sectors. The support with Savills is incredible and you are really treated like a professional and there are so many possibilities for progression and training internally and externally.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Savills?
  • I would say be yourself and not be the candidate you think they want to be. Just be yourself and be honest. In my personal experience it was really relaxed and it was mainly about my hobbies and what I'm like as a person.
