  • I am responsible for running the shift, dealing with issues the carers have, liaising with members of the mdt and ensuring the tenants receive a high standard of care.

  • I have developed my care planning skills and am working on time management

  • I am only at the start, my tutor is really supportive and no question is too stupid.

  • Its different to what I have done in the past and I’m still getting used to it. I have done modular learning previously

  • Not much at the moment as we are experiencing a staffing crisis. She is also new to her role and completing her own level 4

  • So far, the support I have received from my tutor has been outstanding and I don’t foresee any problems with this.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It will give me confidence to push myself to do better and be better.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We don’t have this option as we work on a shift basis.

  • Yes

  • The service that I work in is amazing. We have worked well together through some tough times and kept going, providing excellent care.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NorseCare?
  • Be honest, ask questions, be yourself. Training will be given. The staff are happy to share their skills and knowledge. Previous life skills are just as important as experience in care.
