  • i thoroughly enjoy my programme. • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • it is very well organised. My tutor is organised with diary dates and always keeps me up to date with any changes or new dates that have been added. This is very helpful as working full time i worried about working my apprenticeship alongside, however, this has become manageable because of my work manager and tutor at Realise

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • A lot of support. My manager at the nursery can be very busy but still always makes time to ask how i am getting on and gives me lots of time to complete my work. I feel also supported a lot by the other members of the senior team, every one has always been so helpful with any extra help i may need too.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It helps me gain a lot of extra knowledge and understanding. The training provider offers group webinar zoom meetings on new topics that I can get involved in to help me develop my knowledge and help me jn practice. I feel confident in my role the more i am continuing to complete my apprenticeship

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I am not sure however i have attended training sessions that all of the staff members raised would be helpful. This is something we all attended on a Saturday and got a chance to gather altogether. We also have had staff nights out for things such as Christmas which was a nice opportunity to socialise with everyone outside of work.

  • 9a. Would you recommend The Old Station Nursery to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a great place to work with and has a friendly and open atmosphere. You get a lot of support from both the training provider and the staff within the nursery setting. I feel welcomed and an appreciated member of staff and it is a very rewarding place to work

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to The Old Station Nursery?
  • Always go for it and do not be worried about falling behind or not succeeding. You have so many support systems around you and a lot of the staff in my setting and most likely a lot of other settings have gone through the apprenticeship themselves to get to where they are now. They are understanding and are there to help you. Do not feel hesitant to ask questions, no question is a silly question it is all part of the learning process
