  • I carry out pre & post contract tasks on projects across the UK and around the world. As an apprentice, I have an internal support network in the team, and an extended support network through the university.

  • So far I have learnt the basics of NEC contracts, how to develop a cost plan, the basics of construction and developed my software & client care skills.

  • I would highly recommend my programme to anyone that is considering a job in construction.

  • My internal team is extremely supportive of my development and support me in both my job role and my uni work, helping with the time management.

  • As above.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider is a fully virtual university, which means you have to manage your own time, however the university provides additional support if you are struggling or fall behind.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • So far, the modules I have studies have been relevant to my role & to obtaining chartership after graduation.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are quarterly activities set up for the individual offices & sports teams that meet weekly. The Exeter office is small, so some offices have more activities than ours.

  • Yes

  • The apprenticeship programme is a step into the world of construction, allowing you to work and gain experience whilst you study.

  • Bo open-minded and keen to learn, be confident and network as much as you can.
