  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role as a first year apprentice involves being trained in a workshop in different units, This includes Welding, Fluid Dynamics, Mechanical, Hand fitting, Milling and Turning, Electronics, PLC, and Electrical. I also spend one day a week doing more theoretic work in classrooms, including Mathmatics, Mechanical Principles, and Communications.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • There are very few links between the qualification and the job role. The qualification is far more generalised and I feel it required knowledge that is not used in the job role.

    3/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It provides a comprehensive education with good pay and a broad spectrum of different oppurtunities after the apprenticeship.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group?
  • I would say that the most important thing is that you must show an interest in engineering and that you enjoy the hands on work.
