  • I learnt a lot of new skills as well as developed some existing skills during my apprenticeship and in my day to day role. Some of the new skills I developed are specific to pensions administration related technical skills like keeping myself updated with the latest pension laws, rules and regulations.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed my programme very much as it gave me an opportunity to work as well gain a qualification at the same time. I was given sufficient time and resources to balance both work and education and I never felt the programme unmanageable or too demanding. It was a challenging but rewarding experience overall.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I felt the programme was very well structured and organised. It was made very clear as to what was expected from me and what the programme would provide right at the very beginning of the programme which is very helpful. The learnings were all relevant but there were times when certain tasks/exercises were not really that relevant or not applicable in my level or situation.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer was very supportive of me during the entire programme specially because I needed some extra time for my additional Maths qualification as it was not at the required level for the apprenticeship. So I, along with a few colleagues were given extra time to prepare for and achieve the required levels in Maths and English. I was never burdened with too much work that I could not get time to study and was always encouraged to finish all my learning within office hours only.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider supported and helped me a lot during the entire programme. The training provider also helped me in successfully achieving the required level in the maths qualification. The personal development tutor assigned to me was also very approachable and friendly. She always had time for all my queries and doubts and helped build my confidence and belief to achieve the qualification.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification helps me perform better to some extent as I can utilise the skills learnt there to my day job but I feel that the qualification was more generic and rather if it could have been more specific to my field of work like something specific to pensions it may have helped much more as I could have directly applied the learnings from there to my role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • No, not really as my team is 100% work from home but we do have occasional office day events which are a good way for socialising and networking.
