I go to a range of clients houses to deliver care where its needed i.e. personal care, domestic care, shopping, welfare check and administering medication etc.
I had never worked in the care industry before so I have learnt many new skills, the importance of administering medication, health and safety, first aid and different medical conditions etc.
I am thoroughly enjoying my experience on the programme I am on, I have learnt new skills and been given a second opportunity to relearn Maths and English again as I did not do too well when I was at school, I have also been given lots of support alongside relearning Maths and English.
I think it is very well organised and the assignments are carefully allocated to me to work alongside my job so I do not feel overloaded with work.
I have not needed much support from my employer to date but the couple of times I had, they were very supportive and willing to help resolve any issues.
My training provider has been amazing providing support, I get to have an online meeting with my tutor once a month and she is thorough in helping me with anything I may have difficulties understanding. The Maths and English classes are brilliant and the teachers are very informative, friendly and eager to always stay on after a lesson to help in any way.
I think my training has benefitted me greatly. Since I got assigned to my training provider, I have improved my knowledge of different medicines and medical conditions, how to apply my time keeping and organisation skills at work better and how to deal with any difficult situations that may arise in my job.
I am unaware of any other extra curricular activities that I can get involved with at my workplace due to still being relatively new to the company. So due to this reason, I am unable to answer this question fairly.
Yes
It is a great company to work for, you get to meet new faces all the time, the staff are welcoming when you join and very accommodating when needed. No 2 days are the same in this work.environment making it a very enjoyable and interesting job.
To be keen to learn new things all the time, be open minded and be willing to work hard and to make sure that the clients are your upmost importance in the job.
