Scheduling calls for carers to attend. Sending rotas to clients and carers. Dealing with handed back calls from carers and reassigning as necessary. Communicating changes with the clients. General admin duties. Completing incident and accident forms and auditing care notes and medications charts. Auditing call momitoring set ups. Answering phones out of hours.
I have developed my skill for scheduling calls to ensure the carers runs are efficient whilst also ensuring the clients get the calls as close to their requested times as possible. Learnt a lot about CQC requirements and protocols. Learnt how to deliver training to carers to support their roles.
I have found the course to be very informative so far. I have been on the course for 4 months and have learnt about my own abilities to ensure I study effectively. I have been given so great learning resources to support my assignment writing which is beneficial in my opinion to complete them correctly.
I have found the course to be well structured so far. My tutor is very supportive and assigns the right amount of work at a time to ensure I have enough to focus on but also so I do not feel overwhelmed by it. I have not found my self stressed to complete tasks as of yet.
I am very well supported by the branch manager and also the team leaders who are highly experienced carers have been very supportive. I know I can go to our company compliance officers and regional manager should I require any support from them as well as the support I already receive.
I ave always communicated directly with my tutor and have not needed to go through to the training provider paragon skills as of yet however, I know I am able to do so should I have any issues or require extra support. When I started the course paragon skills set me up with an online learning portal.
I am finding I am learning more about the care industry with each section of the course I complete. I have many more sections to complete and look forward to learning all the new skills. I have found that what I have done so far has definitely helped me to change the way i complete my role and given a better understanding of the life as a carer.
No as a company we do not have any provided social events for the carers or office staff at present. I believe the higher management have been out for social events before but this was before my time so I am not sure of how that was organised. As a branch we try to have the carers come in to the office once a month for a social gathering and the attendees for this do vary month to month.
Yes
I have found the whole process from interview to on boarding to training and then I had a role change from carer to care coordinator handled in a very professional way. The work life balance and flexibility the company give makes it a very rewarding role. It makes a difference to work for a nice company.
Do not worry if you have never done care before. All training is provided and you never get left alone until you are ready. The team leaders and other carers are so supportive and you will always have someone you can call if you are in doubt or need support.
