  • In my role, I help project managers by performing a range of tasks, including scheduling meetings, composing emails, and reviewing multimedia materials created using PowerPoint and Excel. Additionally, as an apprentice on the data analyst pathway, I am tasked with identifying patterns and making deductions. There is also additional training for various programmes to improve and work on our learning and development.

  • Particularly when working with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets that involve diverse formulas and the utilisation of pivot tables, self-improvement is highly emphasised at the workplace. The company offers its own online learning platform and grants access to Udemy for Business to enable us to pursue supplementary courses and training during our free time.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The programme is amazing since it offers a continuous learning experience and diverse tasks, ensuring that it does not become repetitive. Additionally, it provides many opportunities for networking and connecting with individuals who share similar interests in the field of business. During your time at the company, you can explore numerous areas and take advantage of the countless opportunities available.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is efficiently structured, and you will be designated a counsellor right from the outset with whom you will have regular meetings to review your progress and share any apprehensions. Your colleagues are considerate of your time allocation for both work and study. Additionally, you will be rotating through various projects throughout the year.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • As part of your time in the company, you will be paired with a dedicated counsellor who will regularly check in with you monthly to provide support. Additionally, there are various managers within the team and the apprenticeship organisers who are available to lend an ear and offer assistance with any concerns or inquiries you may have.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • If you have any queries related to the course material, the module organisers and programme leaders can be reached through email. Additionally, you will be assigned a skills coach at the beginning, whom you will meet regularly to assess your progress. Moreover, the training provider has a safeguarding team in place to ensure your health and wellbeing.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The expertise and competencies acquired during the course are pertinent and advantageous for my daily job. One can implement the knowledge gained from the modules in practical situations and connect with colleagues who have undergone a comparable curriculum. The abilities learned from the qualification aid in enhancing performance as they provide greater understanding.

  • Yes, there are extra-curricular activities to get involved in at my work. The company recognises the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance, and as such, offers a range of extra-curricular activities through networks that employees can participate in to help them unwind and de-stress. These activities include sports leagues, book clubs, volunteering opportunities, yoga and meditation classes, and various social events such as team-building exercises.

  • Prior to submitting your application, it is crucial to conduct thorough research on the company and have a well-defined idea of what you hope to achieve by joining them. During the application process and subsequent interviews, it is essential to maintain honesty and seek information from the company on the benefits of working with them. Additionally, gaining insights into the company culture beforehand is advisable by connecting with employees on LinkedIn or attending events designed to offer a glimpse into company operations.
