  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is a Team leader at a Pub. I overlook and delegate tasks for a team during a shift. I am able to do some manager tasks and input data onto the computer system and set tasks for the team to complete. I offer help and support where needed and use my initiative in situations that need direction or resolving. I understand procedures and policies the organisation have and use these in everyday scenarios.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt new ways to deal with situatons, how to have a more diverse approach to help and support staff that suits them better. I can use my skills in entering computer data more efficiently and understand more of the business side and how well the pub is doing. I can use this information to then support the staff in completing goals and tasks set by the organisation.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • When doing the tests some of the questions were slightly difficult to understand and i needed support from my assessor to re-word the question to understand it better. The overall diverse areas were good as it gave a good insight to a more manger role that will be the next course to progress in my career.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I had a few different assessors during the whole of my course as it was during Covid-19 and my maternity leave. They were all great at giving me support when I asked for it and made sure that I understood each task that was set for me. Communication was great and we were able to relate to the course as a whole.
