  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I create a variety of digital medias for different people and areas across the Port Talbot site as well as others. I create media such as posters, E-banners, videos, adverts. I also help with knowledge and development of digital media for other members of the communications team.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt to develop my professional career, how to develop my digital media skills and how they are used in a larger company. Also, I have learned how to be part of a bigger team which is spread across the UK which is an amazing experience.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I couldn’t enjoy my apprenticeship any more than I already do. It’s a dream come true for me.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My apprenticeship has a lot of structure and plenty of support and communication whenever I need it. I never feel alone.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My manager supports my work, helps me develop my skills and gives me guidance to help with my apprenticeship. The full comms team are amazing and are always there to support me if I need it.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I am given the opportunity to be independent when it comes to gaining my qualification. However, my tutor is available to hear from me and supports me whenever I need any support.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I believe that my job role and apprenticeship are working hand in hand as my apprenticeship helps me enhance my educational skills, whereas my job role allows me at the same time to develop my professional behaviour.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There is a variety of community run activities and networking events which I cannot wait to be a part of.

  • It’s a company which becomes a home. It’s a huge group of people who become like family. It’s thrilling and just right at the same time. It’s a great work place.

  • Be yourself, embrace who you are, so will the company.
