  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My daily tasks include meeting and qualifying customers, finding out about them personally, their business, building a relationship with them first and foremost then finding out what products they are interested in and the services we can offer, discussing our compliance paperwork, raising quotations for different funding options. I will arrange handovers, complete all the necessary paperwork. Working closely with my peers both in my own and other departments.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt various new skills with my apprenticeship so far, market research is one I have used to organise myself when it comes to prospecting; finding out the general climate of the area I'm in and who's around me, what their demographic is and how I can help them grow and boost their business.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am enjoying the programme very much, finding it very challenging, insightful and engaging. Finding time to complete assignments and other tasks is a struggle at the moment but I think I'm managing it all quite well under the circumstances. My tutor is wonderful, friendly and helpful and so supportive.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I think the apprenticeship is structured well, there are units to be completed before certain dates, I'm in regular contact with my tutor and she's always only a phonecall away if I need any more assistance. I am organising myself better as well and managing the workload more efficiently.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Everyone at Motus is always happy to help, providing documents, information, advice. I've felt supported by Bryan Dyer, my line manager, as he is going through an apprenticeship himself and we have lots of discussions regarding this, he attends my review meetings. My other colleagues are supportive when I need to leave the office for exams or reviews.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I always receive lots of support from DBC Training and from my tutor, Jane Barnett. If I need to move a meeting last minute or if I'm struggling with anything I can call Jane and she'll do her best to accommodate a meeting swap or provide further assistance. There are other people I can talk to if I need further information on a different module of the course as well.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • This qualification is helping me perform better in my role because it has helped me understand further about Motus' visions and core values. Being more educated on this helps me to be an ambassador for Motus and adopt a working style/customer service approach that is more in tune with the vision and core values. It has also helped me understand who my demographic is how the markets affect buyer choice and the forces that go into a buyer's decision

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are lots of extra curricular activities that Motus are involved with. Charity work is a massive part of the Motus community from dress down Fridays to bake sales to collections and donations for the people in Ukraine. I've attended local ploughing matches, awards nights, promotional events. Motus really try hard to promote themselves and get involved as much as they can in the industry.

  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • My answer is always the same. The Motus community is like nothing else. Everyone is there for each other, helping each other out wherever they can and however they can. The HR Department are consistently striving to promote mental health in the workplace, encouraging more women into the Motor trade, offering courses for personal and professional development - the list is endless! Yes I would recommend Motus to a friend.
