  • Working in personal tax, completing tax compliance work (tax returns) and responding to ad-hoc advisory queries/drafting reports. I have a portfolio of c100 clients that I work with and assist the client engagement lead with.

  • Tax technical knowledge, organisation, communication has developed both internal and external

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The taught courses were invaluable and provided me with the relevant knowledge to pass my exams and the apprenticeship. It did not relate directly to my job role when I was doing the ACA but my CTA studies are much more relevant.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Regular progress reviews throughout the course, exam timetable which was made available each year setting out requirements of the year, internal training sessions to complement the apprenticeship

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The apprenticeship required me to be very organised as it was a new qualification for the department I worked in so I reached out to relevant people at First Intuition/L&D department at work when required. My line manager was very supportive throughout.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Tuition and revision courses were great and support was there if needed outside of taught courses. I couldn't fault this aspect at all.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My ACA exams don't directly relate to my job role, but the skills I have developed on the apprenticeship has helped with my performance in the role. My CTA exams will be invaluable to improving my tax technical knowledge.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I run the netball team at work which is great fun and some networking events have come from this

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I have a very varied client list which keeps my work interesting. Managers in my team are supportive and are keen to help me develop further by asking me to assist with more difficult technical work.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Evelyn Partners?
  • Have an understanding of the company, different departments/client service offerings and the values that the company has before interviewing.
